Mr. Banks started a new class in Digital Humanities for upper schoolers. The class considers how students express themselves using digital content.  Students post a blog twice a week, engaging with essential questions, such as “What does it mean to be human?” Students also read philosophers like Nietzsche and Kant and curate collections of online material on the topic. Students use a multi-media curation site called Wakelet, using videos, images, tweets, text, and quotes. They maintain digital collections and blogs, and write an essay about new information they put in their collections. The class is like a digital sister for Mr. Clausen’s Honor Humanities Humanities class, and several children are enrolled in both.
