On Monday several Washington Latin Public Charter School musicians and singers performed on WPFW 89.3 FM for the Brother Ah’s Radio Show. Robert Northern (Brother Ah) is a French horn player who recorded music with musicians like John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and Sun Ra and taught in the music departments at Dartmouth and Brown. Honors Choir members Tabatha Smith, Ava Tiller, Sophia Cisneros, Maggie Dalzell, Shelby Griffith, Emerson Moore, and Nia Miller sang on the show, and  Jazz band members Adrien Gomez, Ethan Gadson, Maddy Katz, Duncan Cox, and Ned Yarsky performed. Music director, Melissa Nevola, was interviewed on the show, and several students and parents and Mr. Anderson all commented on our musical program. Listeners called in from all over the world, including several men on a boat in the Nile, who had questions or comments about the performance.
