Later this month eighth graders will take a two day trip into the past as part of their history and English curricula. Students will spend a day watching court cases at the D.C. Superior Court in connection with their Justice unit in English and their study of the play “Inherit the Wind” by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee.  Students will also spend a day visiting Lincoln’s Cottage and Ford’s Theatre in connection with their study of the Civil War in history class.  We often take for granted how rich our city is with historical landmarks!

Scientific Discoveries!

Thursday upper school ninth and tenth graders took part in the annual science fair. The students, lead by Mr. Torrence and Ms. Shapiro, created a hypothesis, designed an experiment, and tested their hypotheses. Students evaluated the results in light of other scientific research. The results were on display for judges from our community on Thursday in the MPR.
