Cooper students are invited to apply for volunteer jobs in our library: as student librarians or “adopt a shelf” volunteers. Read on for details of how students apply on campus.
Calling all budding librarians, book lovers, and organizational aficionados! We have begun inviting students to apply for roles in the library! The two volunteer roles for which we will be “hiring” are outlined below.
Student Librarians
Work the circulation desk checking books in and out for their fellow students during recess, re-shelve books, and help Mrs. Wolfson maintain a tidy and welcoming library environment. Student Librarians will “work” 1-2 recesses per week for the whole school year.
Adopt-a-shelf volunteer
These students commit to “adopting” a shelf in the library for the whole school year. They will visit their shelf three times per week to tidy it up, put books in alphabetical order, and make sure books are pushed forward so as to be visible on the shelf.
Details
- Students should ask their advisors for application forms.
- Applicants should turn in completed applications to their advisors no later than 9/26/2025.
- Once applications are received, the Cooper librarian, Ms. Wolfson will review them and contact students via their Latin emails to arrange an interview.
- Both roles will require 1-2 training sessions after school during tutorial. These sessions will occur in early October.
- FYI: Circulation opens to all students on October 1st!
