Flood the Council Chamber for Fair Funding on Tuesday, June 2

Share

Despite significant advocacy from our community this budget cycle, DC charter school students are still facing a $2,000 per-pupil funding gap compared to DCPS students in FY27. That gap has real consequences — for our classrooms, faculty, and your children.

This Tuesday, June 2 is our last opportunity to show the DC Council our community supports equitable funding. The DC Council’s monthly Legislative Meeting is our final boots-on-the-ground moment before the budget vote the following week — and Councilmembers have said directly that it is community voices, not just advocacy organizations, that move them.

Join us at the Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Room 500) on Tuesday, June 2. Arrive by 11:30 AM and plan to stay through at least 2:30 PM. Wear Washington Latin gear if you have it — we want our community to be visible. If you need some gear, we’ll provide some for you.

Our students deserve fair funding. Let’s show up for them.

If you can be there, please let us know. If you cannot, please share this message with anyone in our community who might.
