The end of the year can be incredibly busy as we gear up to finish strong and look towards the summer. As standardized testing is finishing up and final projects and exams are just beginning, we want to share with you the end-of-year schedule so you and your child will know what to expect as we close out the school year.
5th & 6th Grades – Regular classes through Friday, 6/5
- Monday 6/8 – normal Monday schedule
- Tuesday 6/9 – last day of classes! Friday schedule
- Wednesday 6/10 – 5th/6th grade field day, 5th/6th grade cookout at 12:00 pm, normal 2:10 pm dismissal (dress down day)
- Thursday 6/11 – normal arrival time, Valediction at 8:30 am, noon dismissal; no lunch, normal morning buses with return buses at half day
- Friday 6/12 – First day of summer break!
7th Grade – Regular classes through Wednesday, 6/3
- Algebra 1 students only – Final Exam 6/3 8:45-10:45
- Thursday 6/4 – Algebra 1 students may leave at 11:45; regular dismissal for all others, regular bus schedule
- Friday 6/5 – dismissal at 11:45 for any 7th grader not taking a make-up exam
- Monday 6/8 – exam make-up day, 7th and 8th graders ONLY attend school if they have to make up an exam
- Tuesday 6/9- 7th/8th grade field day; buses as usual (dress down day)
- Wednesday 6/10 – field trip; buses as usual (dress down day)
- Thursday 6/11 – normal arrival time, Valediction at 10:30 am, 8th grade reception at 12:00 pm; noon dismissal, no lunch, normal morning buses with return buses at half day; note that this is a “dress UP” day
- Friday 6/12 – first day of summer break!
8th Grade – Regular classes through June 1
- Tuesday 6/2 – English and Latin exams, regular bus schedule
- Wednesday 6/3 – Math exam in morning; students may leave at 11:45 am; regular bus schedule (2:40 pm departure)
- Thursday 6/4 – History exam in morning, World Language exam in afternoon; students may leave at 11:45 if they do not have a World Language exam; regular bus schedule
- Friday 6/5 – Science exam in the morning; dismissal at 11:45 for any 8th grader not taking a make-up exam
- Monday 6/8 – exam make-up day, 7th and 8th graders ONLY attend school if they have to make up an exam
- Tuesday 6/9 – 7th/8th grade field day; buses as usual (dress down day)
- Wednesday 6/10 – field trip; morning buses as usual (dress down day); students return around 7pm

Upper School – Regular classes through June 1; Exams June 2-5
- Monday 6/8 and Tuesday 6/9 – exam make-up days; students only attend school if they have a make-up exam
- Wednesday 6/10 – 11th/12th grade field trip to Sandy Point State Park, 9:45 am arrival; Passing of the Torch Ceremony, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at 2nd Street; no school for 9th/10th grade students
- Thursday 6/11 – 9th/10th grade cookout at Hains Point, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm; no school for 11th/12th grade students
- Friday 6/12 – Upper School Valediction at 10:00 am, Senior Luncheon (seniors and faculty only) at 11:30 am, MANDATORY graduation practice at 2:00 pm; transportation provided to rehearsal and students dismissed around 4 pm from UDC
- Monday 6/15 – Graduation! 12:00 pm at UDC
