Washington Latin has parent-teacher conferences each fall, offering parents the chance to meet with each of their children’s teachers to discuss their progress. Read on to learn how this generally works at Washington Latin.
WHEN
Conferences generally take place in two parts:
- Virtual conferences on Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week (no school for students)
- In-person conferences on a single afternoon in early December (half day for students)
WHAT
The conferences are 10 minutes long and can be scheduled with each teacher.
WHO
Parents/guardians may schedule a conference with each of their children’s teachers. Students are invited to attend as well.
Any parent/guardian who would like translation for any conference will be provided this service. Please contact communication@latinpcs.org or call/text 240.962.7775.
HOW
A couple of weeks before the conferences, we will send you instructions on using Pickatime, our online scheduling system. Basically, here is how that works:
- Parents/guardians create an account in the system and link that account to their child(ren).
- Parents/guardians then visit a specific link to schedule their 10-minute conferences with each of their children’s teachers.
- Parents/guardians will only be able to schedule one conference per teacher across all conference days.
- The conferences can be all on one day or across several days.
