Washington Latin provides bus service for both campuses; this is a fee-based service. Please see below for pricing and route information, then visit MySchoolBucks to register and make payment.
Washington Latin offers charter bus service to and from both campuses with morning and afternoon service, plus a late bus. This is not a door-to-door service; families are responsible for ensuring the student arrives at the bus stop on time in the morning and has a plan to get from the bus stop to home in the afternoon.
For the 2025-26 school year, we are modifying our bus routes slightly to enhance service to families from both campuses. Some of the routes are now combined, as noted below.
Bus Routes for 2nd Street
- Hillcrest/Anacostia – Pick-up at 7:10 am in the parking lot of the Lidl shopping center near Good Hope Road, Alabama Avenue, and Naylor Road SE. (Drops off at Cooper Campus before continuing to 2nd Street Campus)
- New Option for 2nd Street Northeast Capitol Hill – Pick-up at 7:30 am at the corner of 9th and Maryland NE, near Washington Community Fellowship Church (Drops off at Cooper Campus before continuing to 2nd Street Campus)
- Eastern Market – Pick-up at 7:20 am on North Carolina Avenue SE and 7th Street SE
- Tenleytown – Pick-up at 7:25 am on 40th Street behind the Whole Foods
Due to very low demand, we are discontinuing the stop at Glover Park.
Return buses will depart about 20 minutes after dismissal and drop off at the same location as the morning pick-up. Tenleytown riders, please note that the afternoon drop-off is on Yuma Street NW near Wisconsin Avenue NW.
Bus Routes for Cooper Campus
- Hillcrest/Anacostia – Pick-up at 7:10 am in the parking lot of the Lidl shopping center near Good Hope Road, Alabama Avenue, and Naylor Road SE (Drops off at Cooper Campus before continuing to 2nd Street Campus)
- Northeast Capitol Hill – Pick-up at 7:30 am at the corner of 9th and Maryland NE, near Washington Community Fellowship Church (bus originating at Eastern Market, drops off at Cooper Campus before continuing to 2nd Street Campus))
- Southeast Capitol Hill – Pick-up at 7:25 am at the corner of 8th Street SE and Independence Avenue SE near the 90/92 bus stop
Return buses will depart about 20 minutes after dismissal and drop off at the same location as the morning pick-up.
Additional Route Options
We heard you, families! In response to parent feedback, we are considering adding or reactivating routes that have been requested. Please note: we are only considering these and must hear from famlies to gauge demand and make a final determination.
- Campus Shuttle – We are considering morning-only service from the 2nd Street Campus parking lot (corner of Hamilton and 2nd Street NW) to the Cooper Campus. We MAY add this service for 2025-26 if there is sufficient demand. Please contact Martita Fleming (mfleming@latinpcs.org) if you are interested in this shuttle option.
- Tenleytown for Cooper – We are considering offering the Tenleytown route (morning ONLY) to Cooper families. Students from both campuses would ride together from Tenleytown to the 2nd Street Campus, and then Cooper students would take a van shuttle from the 2nd Street Campus parking lot to the Cooper Campus. We MAY add this service for 2025-26 if there is sufficient demand. Please contact Martita Fleming (mfleming@latinpcs.org) if you are interested in this morning-only Tenleytown option.
Late Bus (2nd & Cooper)
Eastern Market (both campuses)
For students involved in afterschool activities, we will provide return transportation to Eastern Market from both campuses. This service is offered Monday-Thursday. There is no late bus on Fridays.
- 2nd Street Campus – 5:00 pm departure Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and 4:00 pm departure on Wednesdays
- Cooper Campus – Coming from 2nd Street, 5:10 pm arrival Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and at 4:10 pm arrival on Wednesdays; departure is about 10 minutes later.
- Eastern Market – Arrival 25-30 minutes after departing Cooper (depending on traffic)
The late bus will now terminate at Eastern Market and will not continue to Hillcrest/Anacostia, due to low demand.
Tenleytown (2nd Street only)
Late bus service to Tenleytown from 2nd Street will also be available Monday through Thursday, departing from the 2nd Street Campus at approximately 5:00 pm.
