The Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) is a locally funded initiative sponsored by the Department of Employment Services (DOES) that provides District youth ages 14 to 24 with enriching and constructive summer work experiences through subsidized placements in the private and government sectors. The program dates are:

  • Application Closes: March 6, 2026
  • Youth Orientation Begins: April 4, 2026
  • Program Begins: June 29, 2026
  • Program Ends: August 7, 2026

Washington Latin will be a SYEP job site where Latin students (both campuses) may apply to work. Choosing Latin as the preferred work site does not guarantee placement at Latin. There are also hundreds of other job opportunities across the city for your children to consider.

Nota bene: We encourage students and their parents/guardians to visit the site to learn more and to be sure all deadlines are met!
