Community Service

Share

One hundred hours of community service is a DC-wide high school graduation requirement for all public schools – including Washington Latin. Read on to learn more about what is required and how to record service hours as a student of our Upper School at 2nd Street.

Whenever a student in grades 9-12 at the 2nd Street Campus completes community service hours, they should follow these steps to record those hours:

  1. Complete and sign a paper version of the Community Service form. Note this form also requires you to get your parent/guardian’s signature, along with the name, title and signature of the person who supervised your community service work. If you are working for a nonprofit, such as Martha’s Table for example, your supervisor is the staff member of Martha’s Table. If you are participating in a service project at school, then the faculty member (such as the Director of the Upper School or your advisor) is your supervisor.
  2. Complete the Washington Latin 2nd Street Community Service Google Form. You will be asked to upload your completed and signed Community Service form from Step 1. You can submit a scan or photo (from you phone is fine). Be sure you have that ready to go when submitting the Google form.
  3. Our Registrar will compile the hours and add them to your record. If you have questions, please send them to communityservice@latinpcs.org.
