Sports Registration

How do you sign your child up for competitive sports or wellness classes? Read on to learn more!

We have three seasons of athletics – both competitive sports teams and wellness classes – that are open to students starting in 6th grade. Students are registered through Arbiter Sports’ website, and registration generally opens up a few weeks before the season begins.

  • Upper School registration first – We generally start with the Upper School sports competitive (interscholastic) sports teams first. You will see an announcement on the website that we will share via email with all families and students.
  • Middle School registration is next – Next up is the Middle School registration, which opens a couple of weeks after Upper School registration.
  • Wellness class registration follows – Finally, we will open registration for wellness classes a couple of weeks into the sports season. These are non-compete options that meet afterschool and count towards the athletics credit required starting in 7th grade. Options vary; previous offerings include yoga, weight lifting, dance, and more.

The Arbiter Sports site will require you to create a login and then add your child(ren) whom you are registering. The information is saved, so it is even speedier the next time you are signing them up! For the first registration, you will need your child’s full name, date of birth, and health history to add them to your account.

A few important notes about registration:

  • Students must be registered to try out or practice! Even before you know if they have made the team, please register them.
  • Tryouts are generally the week before the season officially begins. For Fall sports, that means the week prior to our first day of school in August.
  • Some teams are no-cut but have limits on the size of the team, so you want to register right away to save a spot.
  • Once your child is signed up, you will begin hearing from the team coach about tryouts, practices, etc. The coach is the primary point of contact during the season.
  • Our teams are joint (both campuses) with a designated campus for practices and competitions. Student athletes will be transported for free to the other campus, as needed, in Latin vans driven by faculty. (Note that this begins in 2025-26, with Cooper moved into its permanent location at 4301 Harewood Road NE. More information will follow!)
  • We will also ask for family volunteers to support the team, including emailing other families about bringing snacks, supporting at games, etc. Stay tuned for how you can support our Lions!

If you have questions about the athletics program, contact Bob Eleby-El, Director of Athletics.
