When this happens, students will have to go to another approved recess location. <\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BOOK RETURN<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Students may return books at the circulation desk or in the blue Book Return Bin located in the Middle School front lobby.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">.<\/p><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Proc\u00e9dures d&#039;emprunt<\/summary>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>CHECK OUT (borrowing a book)<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Books must be checked out at the circulation desk by Mrs. Wolfson or a trained, on-duty Student Librarian. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students may check out up to 2 books at a time for a two-week period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students may renew a book for another two-week period if there is not a hold on the item.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CHECK IN (returning a book)<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Students must return all books within 14 days from the date the book was checked out (unless renewed).<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OVERDUES (Late Books)<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Students will receive <strong>almost-due notices<\/strong> 3 days before a book is due.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will receive <strong>overdue notices <\/strong>at<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>2 weeks &amp; 2 days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 weeks<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are no daily fines for overdue books though there is a Lost\/Damaged Book Policy to ensure effective and fair collection management, and to promote student accountability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If students have overdue books, they will not be able to check out more books until either 1) overdue books are returned, or 2) they complete a Lost\/Damaged Book Policy procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">.<\/p><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Politique relative aux livres perdus et endommag\u00e9s<\/summary><p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">When a student loses or damages a book, they will have <strong>3 options for replacing the book<\/strong>. Student Librarians will \u201cwork\u201d 1-2 recesses per week for the whole school year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adopt-a-Shelfers<\/strong> will commit to \u201cadopting\u201d a shelf in the library for the whole school year. They will visit their shelf once a week to tidy it up. This includes putting books in alphabetical order, straightening up the books, and pushing them forward so that students can easily read the spines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Both <\/em><\/strong>roles will require 1-2 training sessions after school. These Club members are trained on covering and repairing library books.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">.<\/p><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Annual Spring Book Fair<\/summary><p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">Each spring Latin holds a hybrid book fair with local book store, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcitybookshop.com\/\">East City Bookshop<\/a>. Customers may shop both teacher wishlists and do personal shopping from their entire inventory (either in-person or online, hence hybrid). 20% of the total pre-tax purchase will be donated back to Cooper Library. <\/p>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li><strong>Help us grow our library collection!<\/strong> Purchases from Mrs. Wolfson&#8217;s wishlist + the 20% donation goes a long way to grow our young collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">.<\/p><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>March Madness Book Tournament<\/summary><p class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-paragraph\">Re-energize your late-spring hump by participating in our March Madness Tournament!  <\/p>\n\n<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Mrs. Wolfson determines the 16 most borrowed books and pits them against each other using sports brackets and single-elimination rounds until a grand winner is determined. Those who predicted the correct winner gets a mystery goodie bag!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How it works:<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Blank bracket sheets distributed in Advisories (<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/131-kx5KCREvKbrwkVPfLAA5NYotB9sR6\/view?usp=sharing\">example<\/a>). <ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Each student takes 2 blank bracket sheets and fills them out identically, 1 to be handed into Mrs. Wolfson and 1 to keep to reference as you vote. <\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over several weeks, students will vote via a Google Form sent to their Latin inbox at the beginning of each week (5 Rounds of voting).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Every Monday we\u2019ll announce round winners <em>et <\/em>send out the next round of voting via email.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Example of our voting schedule from spring, 2026:<ul  class=\"appear-on-scroll wp-block-list\" >\n<li>Friday March 20 &#8211; Students submit their completed bracket to the library<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monday March 23 &#8211; Round 1 Voting gets emailed to all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Friday March 27 &#8211; Round 1 Voting closes midday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monday April 6\u00a0 &#8211; Round 1 Book Winners announced in Weekly Bulletin + displayed on giant tournament bracket board on the wall just outside the library. Round 2 Voting gets emailed to all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Friday April 10 &#8211; Round 2 Voting closes midday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monday April 13 &#8211; Round 2 Book Winners announced.
