Tuesday afternoon, at the Public Charter School Athletic Association (PCSAA) Early Bird Invitational, Latin’s cross country team swept the podium of prize winners, finishing first, second, and third. In the 5K junior Robbie Mirabello came in first, junior Max Regardie came in second, and sophomore Casey Montrey came in third. Seven of Latin’s 11 runners who participated set personal record 5k times, including Max, Sam Regardie, junior Jelani Massey, freshman Gavin Neubauer, freshman Zaire Jackson, freshman Charlie Fox-Whelpton, and freshman Scarlett Edwards. Over the weekend, on Saturday, the team trekked the tortuous hills of Leesburg, Virginia at the Oatlands Invitational. Junior and team captain Zoe Edelman placed an impressive 12th out of 365 runners in the Varsity Girls race with a 5k time of 19:34. Senior Oliver Spiva placed 43rd of 444 runners in the Varsity Boys race with a 5k time of 17:15.
