The National Latin Exam
Before Spring Break, Form I and II students took The National Latin Exam, a multiple choice test organized by the American Classical League (ACL). Over 134,500 students around the world participated in this challenging exam, which is often administered to students older than ours here at Washington Latin Public Charter School. Our results were excellent, as 22% of the students earned some sort of recognition for their performance. 18% of those taking the Intro to Latin exam (for first-year Latin students) received certificates of achievement, while an impressive 32% of the Form II students taking the Latin I exam (for second-year Latin students) earned such certificates.
In Form I, eight students received High Achievement awards, while nine earned Outstanding Achievement certificates. In Form II, four students qualified as Summa Cum Laude, three as Maxima Cum Laude, one as Magna Cum Laude, and five Cum Laude.
