The seventh and eighth grade track team took part in PCSAA Track Championship meet last week as well at PG Sports Complex against 14 other charter schools. In the 100m dash, eighth graders Isaac Cabading and Quentin Johnson took 2nd and 3rd place. In the 80m hurdles, eighth grader D’Andre Person placed 4th in his heat, putting him in the top 10 overall.  Diego Rodriguez placed fourth in his heat in the 80m hurdles. Ella Kramer placed 3rd in her heat in the 80m hurdles.  Omare Omatete placed 5th overall in the 200m dash, nabbing 2nd pale in his heat. Isabelle Charles placed 2nd in her heat, Lauryn Shepard placed 3rd in her heat, and Michela Irving placed 4th in her heat. Seventh grader Reese Richburg placed second in her heat in the 400m dash.  Seventh grader Lucas Rohde placed 2nd overall in the 800m run, while eighth grader Gavin Neubauer placed 9th overall. Seventh grader Tillie Freed placed 6th overall, and eighth grader Claire Immanuel was 4th in her heat. In the 1600m run, Rohde nabbed the top spot for the boys and seventh grader Anja Pratt placed 4th overall.  The 4X100 relay team of eighth graders Rodriguez, Person, Zaire Jackson, and Omare Omatete placed 4th in their heat.  The girls’ 4X800 relay team of Pratt, Freed, eighth grader Scarlett Edwards, and Emanuel placed 2nd overall! Meanwhile, the boys’ 4X400 relay of Rohde, Neubauer, Person and Omatete came in 4th overall. The girls’ 4X400 relay of eighth grader Adelaide Pfeuffer, Edwards, Freed, and Shepard came in 5th overall.
