Later this month eighth graders will take a two day trip into the past as part of their history and English curricula. Students will spend a day watching court cases at the D.C. Superior Court in connection with their Justice unit in English and their study of the play “Inherit the Wind” by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee.  Students will also spend a day visiting Lincoln’s Cottage and Ford’s Theatre in connection with their study of the Civil War in history class.  We often take for granted how rich our city is with historical landmarks!
